Pupils from Year 6 were invited by The Mercers’ Company to take part in the Lord Mayor’s show on Saturday 14th November.
Despite the miserable wet weather, they all rose to the occasion dressed as cats from Dick Whittington. They took part in cycling the pedibus, carrying the banners and waving to the crowds with great enthusiasm.

Improving standards and raising attainment for all children, regardless of background, has won ‘Gold Club’ status for Culloden Primary. Ben Carter, principal, commented, “The award recognises the results achieved by our pupils. We will continue to make sure that every pupil receives the education they deserve and will be sharing our teaching practice with other schools.” The academy achieved high attainment for its pupils in all subjects at key stage 2 last year.
This story was originally published in the Docklands and East London Advertiser (15 October 2015).
We offer initial teacher education (primary and secondary, all subject areas) through our salaried School Direct programme. As a trainee teacher you will have access to invaluable school and classroom experience that will equip you with the knowledge, skills and experience you will need to become an excellent class teacher.
This programme is for graduates and career changer graduates wishing to train to become teachers. We are also able to offer parallel, salaried training opportunities for strong candidates (secondary only) who do not have a degree but who can demonstrate clear aptitude and desire to develop a teaching career. We would consider applications for salaried training places from school leavers who have, or are predicted to achieve, strong A levels (or equivalent) and can demonstrate an interest in, and experience of, working with children and young people.
More information is available here.
We now have a new governance structure which has taken effect from 1st September 2015. This has meant that the local governing body has been replaced with an academy council.
The academy council meetings are designed to encourage engagement and contribution to the future direction of each academy to improve the communication between the academies and parents/carers.
All former parent/carer governors have been invited to join the new academy council and so far there are five members. There is still an opportunity to add new members to the academy council. If you are interested in finding out more, please come to the first academy council meeting on Thursday 8th October at 9.15am in the Staff Room.
We look forward to seeing you at the meeting.
