Times of the School Day

At Culloden Primary Academy the school gates open from 08:45am.

At Culloden we have fostered a ‘soft start; approach. All classrooms including Nursery will open from 08:45am. This will allow parents to drop off their child/ren straight to class, 10 minutes earlier without having to wait around in the playground. Pupils will have 10 minutes extra to settle into their school day. The bell will ring at 08.55am as usual-this will indicate class registers are open. The main entrance will close by 09:05am. Parents do not need to stay in the playground after they have dropped off their child to their class.

We start at 8.55am and school finishes at 3.30pm. Registration is from 8.55am – 9.05am.

Nursery part time is from 09.00am -12.00pm

Nursery full time is from 09.00am -3.00pm (an additional payment can be made if you would like your child to stay until 3.30pm)

It’s important that your child attends school every day and on time. School helps your child develop important relationships, take part in all of the curriculum and ensure that they develop friendships later on.

Assemblies

  • Monday – Personal Development
  • Tuesday – Singing Assembly
  • Wednesday – Wellbeing Wednesday
  • Thursday – Class Assembly
  • Friday – Rewards/Values Assembly

Morning break
From 11.05am – 11.20am for all children.

Lunchtime
Nursery and Reception have lunch from 11.30 – 12.15pm.

Year 1 have lunch at 12.15pm.

Years 2-6 have lunch from 12.20pm -1.20pm.

We cater for pupils with a range of food allergies. Pupils with food allergies wear a lanyard at lunchtime so that all staff including the catering team are aware of their allergies.

Afternoon break
Nursery and Reception children have breaks which are at flexible times.

Year 1 have an additional afternoon break.

Home time
School finishes at 3.30pm for all children.

Getting to and from school walking is definitely the best option! We have a bicycle hut if you prefer to cycle to school.

If you travel by car please do not park on the yellow lines outside the school and park with respect to other road users and our neighbours.

Total time per week including breaks: 32 hours 55 minutes.
